One On One

Since I went away

I’ve been staring into space a lot

I’ve been thinking of what others have

and what I have not

Since I went away

I abandoned a few things such as hope

I’ve been trying to get by

walking on a tightrope

Since I went away

my friends forgot about me

I’ve been thinking a lot

about what support means to me

Since I went away

I am killing time

spending what’s left

finding words that rhyme.

  4. I thought of a saying by Hafiz that goes something like, “Ever since happiness heard your name, it’s been running through the streets trying to find you.” That helped me a lot in my dry spell. You could change happiness to hope. Hope has been running through the streets trying to find you, Harlon. Sending hugs and hope your way! 🙂
