Rough Patch

At times this feeling, feels like it is too much.

Something that can never be mastered.

Yet, I have been through this before

in other shapes and other forms,

and I have gotten through it.

It is a rough patch,

just that,

and it will not

and it does not define the relationship I have

with life and with myself.

And by that, I mean the real me;

sensitive, authentic and genuine,

the determined me,

determined to be me.

  1. You got that right, Harlon ❤
Loved what you wrote on Michael’s blog. I am with you 100%.
Hang in there with “that feeling.” It has been my experience that the more I fight it the longer it likes to stay around. If I just sit with it and ‘allow’ it, it tends to soften and melt away.
    Sending light and love ❤

  2. The one thing about life, Harlon, is however it got into motion, it somehow wants to stay in motion! So things are always evolving, transforming, nudging us to and fro and in and out of comfort zones. It’s hard at times… We all know what it’s like to feel in a rut, overwhelmed, uncertain. But just the way you’ve written this reveals the strong core within you! The one who can ride out any storm…

    Blessings, my friend!

  3. I might have said this before, but will probably say it again: One of the best things about getting older is learning that we can and do get through the rough patches. With enough rest in between the rough patches and the kind of attitude you have, we grow stronger, wiser, and more grateful. Sending peace and hugs.
