Lately, I haven’t been myself

apparently

so I figure it’s time to do something

nice for me

I could be gracious

or I could be bold

but instead I planted

twelve instead of one marigold.

  3. Harlon, I like your 12 apostles!
    It reminded me of a poem my dad wrote many years back when I was a kid and he was my age. He gardened a lot, and he wrote something like this, in a different language: If you take the shortcut, it will be closest, if you walk the long way, it may be faster, but if you walk where flowers bloom, it will heal your heart.

  5. They are delightful, Harlon, as is your writing and expression. I just love the way apparently hangs there in the second line, as if this feedback is coming from a third party you are inclined to ignore. Spreading beauty feels an equally sublime response to this third party. Nothing like slapping yourself with kindness.

  8. It is always good to do nice things for yourself, especially when you don’t quite feel like yourself. The blossoms are gorgeous I love blossoms they make smile. Hopefully they make you smile so you feel a little better.
