I think I need to accept

settling down is not a notion

I will never settle down

I am like the ocean

I float and I drift

looking for a drop-off point

or a wave’s lift

I think I need to accept

that I am jetsam and flotsam

I am part of the waves and their motion

and that is all I ever am

never settling down

I sink or swim

but I never drown.
