The leaves are dying and falling down,
they are now resting back into the ground.
I would like to thank all of them
for all the clean oxygen.
I don’t mind the mulching and raking
it reminds me it’s time to start baking.
It’s that change of season,
things that were warm will start freezing.
I’ve spent so much time ruminating,
it’s just my form of procrastinating.
I faced some truths, I can feel it,
the leaves are falling, they can lift my spirit.
Times are changing,
I spend time playing board games and laughing.
Beautiful poem, beautiful song, my sentiments too.

I love autumn. The falling leaves are like memories that enrich the soil, deepen my roots. I think of my dad and the way we raked side by side. Thank you for prompting the lovely journey, Harlon.

Thanks for the soothing song even though I don’t speak French. Just like your words reflect a peace and contentment of settling into the season and what is. To soothing Autumns….
