I am looking for somebody
who is into being real and not just for sports
so that we can get together and build pillow forts
and we can hang out in our underwear
holding on to each other
while eating Oreos
and talking about how scared we really are.
Interesting…

Nice piece, Harlon. Too funny, I just spent few days living in forts of pillows and blankets and boxes, and I keep finding Oreos hidden under the bed. π

Sometimes I think of playfulness as all-colored foam on the surface of water after the bubbles of fears and longings rise to the top.
If you don’t mind, I will share a couple of favorite stanzas with you.
Barry Wendell:
I go among trees and sit still.
All my stirring becomes quiet
around me like circles on water.
My tasks lie in their places
Where I left them, asleep like cattle β¦
Then what I am afraid of comes.
I live for a while in its sight.
What I fear in it leaves it,
And the fear of it leaves me.
It sings, and I hear its song.
Rumi:
A craftsman pulled a reed from the reedbed,
cut holes in it,Β
and called it a human being.
Since then, it has been wailing
a tender agony of parting,
never mentioning the skill
that gave it life as a flute
May we listen to those songs, and not forget our skill, as we walk each other home, holding a hand strong or feeble. β€

Thank you for sharing those stanzas, they were particularly uplifting and filled in a few holes in the walls of my pillow fort. Peace, Harlon

It is a nice wish and rare to find that someone. At 70, me and my mister still play and I married him at 45. Granted he is quite a bit younger, which keeps me young as well. He makes me laugh and doesn’t take anything so serious but what needs to be. So, I don’t know how old you are, but there’s someone out there that is willing to play. BTW, I was kind of stuffy at first, but he’d make me laugh by saying, “you want Mr. Perfect Husband?” then he’d start acting like a stuffy butler type. He didn’t give up and i love him more than I can express. Love your playfulness.

I like this Harlon. Shows comfort and being at ease with a person. Though I did not have a pillow fight, I had this kind of good fun with Mr EX. π
