Where Is My Wonderland?

winterwonderland

I am used to having fun

with the trees and the birds and the sun

the things I hear breathing

along with the sound of my footprints in the sand.

It’s dark and it’s cold

and everyone has the flu and feels old

the world is unexpectedly changing

and I am still looking for my winter wonderland.

The things that I think and the actions I take

are inherent and not up for stake,

it only takes a little patience to reap

the abundance from the seeds that I sow.

Through the darkness, I see light

with migration, comes flight.

I change with the seasons

and I will always continue to grow.

  1. Lovely, Harlon. I love the idea of migration and how it winds together with your image of a changing world… It made me think we are on a great migration we’ve somehow forgotten, that we walk without knowing where it leads, but it must be a migration, because it is the path we have been given…

    Peace
