Songbird

I am not sleeping well and it’s been a winter of discontent

I’ve gotten sloppy at reaching out and unable to connect

I know that someday soon things will get better

Today I wake up peacefully to the woodpecker’s jackhammer

A night of bad dreams and anxiety can stream right along

When I wake up and hear the songbird’s song

That’s what nature does, it grounds me

embraced by the beauty and the songs that surround me.

    • Hello Sheldon, I hope the procedure wasn’t stressful and the outcome is positive. Being in pain, and living with uncertainty are hard on the spirit. I know it’s a cliche, and I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s what people tell me, and it seems to be true. Things will get better. You are not alone in the battle. Your comrade, Harlon

  2. Nature’s always there for you, if you let it, and asks very little in return. I guess that’s why spas pipe in the fake stuff.

Also, why do I keep spelling fake with a c? Facke. Twice today now.

There’s always so much we can learn from the simplicity in the song of a bird in morning, breathe in, breathe out and be blessed ❤ ❤
