I am not sleeping well and it’s been a winter of discontent
I’ve gotten sloppy at reaching out and unable to connect
I know that someday soon things will get better
Today I wake up peacefully to the woodpecker’s jackhammer
A night of bad dreams and anxiety can stream right along
When I wake up and hear the songbird’s song
That’s what nature does, it grounds me
embraced by the beauty and the songs that surround me.
Its late here on the right coast
I have a procedure tomorrow they are going to stick a tube, down my throat and take a look Harlon take it easy on yourself you’ll sleep when you get tired
Enough, who knows what they’ll find tomorrow,I’ve been in a lot of pain
A soldier of one

Hello Sheldon, I hope the procedure wasn’t stressful and the outcome is positive. Being in pain, and living with uncertainty are hard on the spirit. I know it’s a cliche, and I know it’s easier said than done, but it’s what people tell me, and it seems to be true. Things will get better. You are not alone in the battle. Your comrade, Harlon

Nature’s always there for you, if you let it, and asks very little in return. I guess that’s why spas pipe in the fake stuff.
Also, why do I keep spelling fake with a c? Facke. Twice today now.

There’s always so much we can learn from the simplicity in the song of a bird in morning, breathe in, breathe out and be blessed ❤ ❤

That is a nice photo of a woodpecker! Glad you managed to capture it for us to see! I never realized how different species look like. Thanks Harlon for showing us.

I love this poem. Nature is the best medicine. Spring is on the way bringing moments of contentment and song.

We don’t have the woodpecker in Australia, Harlon. What a handsome looking bird..
Yes, I agree: Nature has such a resounding call that soothes and calms. 🙂
